For many, these are tough times and Clearview Community Church is responding with a special series of messages by one of North America's most recognized commentators on personal finance.
Dave Ramsey, a best-selling author and Fox TV host, will be featured in a series of three video presentations beginning Sunday, May 17, at the 9 a.m. service at Clearview Community Church.
"Life, Money, Hope: Biblical advice for tough times" is Ramsey's response to the global recession.
"There is some real nuts-and-bolts information contained in these three messages," said the Stayner church's senior pastor, Tony denBok. "I think it will have real value for people who want to watch their finances more closely because of the times we're in."
denBok said the idea to use the satellite video message came about when the church considered how it could best help people in Clearview Township who are feeling the effects of reductions in work hours, job losses and increasing debts.
The sermon series opens Sunday on the church's two giant video screens with the first message  called "The Basics of Biblical Finance". On May 24 Ramsey speaks on "Breaking the Bondage of Debt" and on May 31 the topic is "The #1 Myth About Money".
The special series is being presented exclusively at the regular 9 a.m. service. The second regular weekly service, at 11 a.m., will feature live messages from the church's staff pastors.
Clearview Community Church is located at 1070 County Rd. 42, across the road from Stayner Foodland.
