Local officials will be put behind bars Friday, when Service Canada holds its Jail for Jobs event at Beach Area One in Wasaga Beach.
Their bail will be paid in job postings.
"The whole purpose is to increase awareness of the Service Canada Centre for Youth and the services that we offer, most notably our Odd Job Squad," said Christine Gordon.
She said Wasaga Beach's town crier, fire chief and members of council will be among those imprisoned.
The agency matches homeowners and employers who are looking for temporary work with students who have registered with the Odd Job Squad.
Services could include lawn care, painting and other odd jobs around the yard.
Last year the Service Canada Centre for Youth filled more than 350 jobs.
Jail for Jobs takes place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Employers and students looking for work are encouraged to attend and sign up.
Employers and youth looking for summer employment can visit the Barrie Service Canada Centre for Youth between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 48 Owen Street, call 727-4174 or e-mail christine.gordon@servicecanada.gc.ca.
