Collingwood council and the Collingwood Curling Club announced they will be moving ahead with renovations to the Hume Street building, which includes the installation of an elevator and an expanded lounge. The cost of the project is more than $320,000.

The controversy came after a picture was published stating the mayor had autographed a tampon for an auction held at Echos Spirited Bar and Grill on Thurs. Apr. 19. The event was sponsored by the Collingwood Chamber of Commerce and raised money for Collingwood G & M Hospital.
Ed Houghton, executive director of public works, announces the town will be using a machine that was built by Collingwood-based MacLean Engineering. The tractor has multiple attachments including two for snow removal, a sweeper, a mower and a sander.
Collingwood council approved relocation of the Watts Boat house to the spit (Heritage Drive).
The boathouse will be used by the Collingwood Dragon Boat and Canoe Club as its headquarters as storage for boats. The historic boathouse was moved in March from its former location at a plaza on First St., to its current spot. The club will lease the space from the town and will be responsible for the insurance, hydro and phone costs as well as all capital costs.
